Homemade Spanish Rice Recipe 


– 2 tablespoons olive oil – 1 cup long-grain white rice – 1/2 cup chopped onion – 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper – 2 cloves garlic, minced – 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce – 2 cups chicken broth – 1 teaspoon ground cumin – 1 teaspoon chili powder – Salt and pepper to taste – Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

In a large skillet or saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.

Add 1 cup of long-grain white rice to the skillet. Cook, stirring constantly, for about 5 minutes, or until the rice is golden brown.

Stir in 1/2 cup of chopped onion, 1/2 cup of chopped green bell pepper, and 2 cloves of minced garlic. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

Pour in 1 can of tomato sauce and 2 cups of chicken broth. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a boil.

Add 1 teaspoon of ground cumin, 1 teaspoon of chili powder, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir well to evenly distribute the seasonings.
