Breakfast Casserole Recipe


– 1 lb breakfast sausage (or bacon, ham, etc.), cooked and crumbled – 6 slices bread, cubed (preferably day-old bread) – 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite) – 6 large egg – 2 cups milk – 1 teaspoon ground mustard – Salt and pepper, to taste – Optional: chopped fresh herbs (such as parsley or chives)

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Cook and crumble 1 lb of breakfast sausage (or other meat of choice).

Spread the cubed bread evenly in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the cooked and crumbled sausage over the bread cubes. Top with 2 cups of shredded cheese.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together 6 large eggs, 2 cups of milk, 1 teaspoon of ground mustard, salt, and pepper to taste until well combined.

Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread, sausage, and cheese in the baking dish. Gently press down on the bread cubes to ensure they are soaked in the egg mixture.

Bake the Breakfast Casserole in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
