Baked Sockeye Salmon Recipe

Easy and delicious baked sockeye salmon recipe for tender, flaky fish every time. Ideal clean-eating main dish for busy weeknights.


– 16 ounces sockeye salmon cut into filet – 1 Tbsp avocado oil – 1 tsp garlic powder to taste – 1/2 tsp sea salt to taste – 1/2 tsp black pepper to taste


Preheat oven to 400F. Place sockeye fillets in a large baking dish or rimmed sheet pan after unpacking. Leave salmon skin-side down and dab excess moisture with paper towels.

Step 1

Coat salmon with avocado oil using your hands or a silicone brush. Sprinkle sea salt, garlic powder, and black pepper on salmon. Add any spice blends.

Step 2

Bake salmon on the centre rack of a preheated oven for 10–15 minutes until 145 degrees F.

Step 3

Insert a meat thermometer into the fish's thickest part and wait until the numbers stop moving for an accurate reading.

Step 4

Savour salmon with your favourite sides! You can add fresh herbs and lemon juice.
